The Asus ROG Phone 5 Pro (starting at just $269), which we've reviewed in detail previously, had fantastic value. That said, you'll get it all — and then some — when purchasing this handset. You can't go wrong with either of them, as the software, hardware, and overall performance are superbly balanced, making this one ideal for those who need both high speed performance and low power consumption. With this, the Snapdragon 888 SoC is top notch on this device.

This isn't the cheapest option on this list, but don't let that scare you off if it's not currently available; a number of Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones have similar specs, starting at around $400, so we're confident you'll be well able to find a model for less than $800. We wouldn't expect anything spectacular from such a cheap alternative though, so there's obviously no harm in trying.

This is another budget pick, although the screen quality is still quite decent. Although it does feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 775G processor, underclocked by 2%, making it far less powerful than many other high-end flagships, that doesn't mean a much lower level of performance. This particular device has several important things going for it though, including stellar gaming capabilities and solid battery life. But what really makes this flagship worthy of being on here is the incredibly attractive design — and the fact it costs only a small fraction of the price of many of the newer flagships. There's even a 48MP sensor that's quite a bit beyond what we saw in recent camera technology. Overall, this is an impressive choice, particularly given the price. While this might not win many awards in terms of performance or image quality, it's certainly worth checking out.

The main reason why this handset isn't included in this review is its limited availability, but it's clear that the Google Pixel 6a is not a disappointment in either respect. For starters, you do get a whopping 1.5GB of RAM for nearly half the cost of its pricier rivals, along with 128GB storage and support for dual SIM cards. Those basic bits of kit will cover pretty much every user possible, as well as provide ample memory and storage for everyday use. At least for now, thanks to Google's new Tensor chipsets, however, you can expect excellent performance without giving up too much. In addition to that, this is probably among the most capable Android flagships yet out there, featuring enough processing power in its core architecture that it should still offer excellent performance at less than $100 per month if you choose to pay for the phone outright. These advantages aren't lost on anyone who uses Google's flagship products, though. Despite how affordable they are, customers simply won't be willing to spend as much money on the original Pixel 6a, because of its poor display quality and lack of significant upgrades compared to the newer models. Still, the $599.99 starting price is still competitive, and could prove especially useful if you live somewhere with serious competition, like China.
